[On the halfway of my vacation in Vietnam I changed the place and flew to Middle Vietnam. It was interesting that the domestic flight from Hanoi to Da Nang was made with an Estonian airplane and crew. From Da Nang we headed to the town of Hoi An which is famous for its lantern festival that keeps going around the year. All the streets were decorated with different kind of lanterns, restaurants and bars were at least similarly decorated, there were many people selling food and souvenirs on the streets and along the river there were beautiful lanterns statues. There were lots of people and tourists. I dared to taste toasted bread covered with meat and some delicious fried banana baking. Along the river we came across with a place where many people played a game that reminded a little bit bingo but I couldn't figure out the rules just by watching it. Anyway it seemed like a fun small village celebration with the happy and excited players, live music and the hosts who sang all the time.]
[After sleeping in a gorgeous room with a huge balcony only for myself, we took bicycles to go around in Hoi An. When you got away from the lively lantern area, there was only peaceful countryside with rice fields and palm trees. Our destination was the sea that was pretty warm since also rhe air was around +25°C. (I wonder how hot it is during the summer when even the winter is that warm.) Because there was not a real beach we decided to skip swimming in that place. The lunch in a closeby restaurant was more than good with all the fish, vegetables, rice and meat-vegetable sticks. Even though the cycling trip lasted a few hours this white Finn managed to burn herself...]
[After Hoi An I got to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Da Nang and especially its beach. The long beach had quite a narrow area where the swimming was allowed but luckily it was not a rush hour there. Being in the water could hardly be called swimming but excerice it was for sure when jumping over the big waves. We had the dinner in a restaurant where the clients can decide which fish, crabs or other creatures from the acquariums are puton the pan. This time the choice was a fish and some sea shells (because those are mostly the onlyvsea food I eat). On the next day we rented a scooter from the hotel and drove around the city sometimes enjoying the view of the mountain and the sea. The lunch was once again something new for me when I got to cook my mest in chili sauce and fibally had a chance to eat frog legs. In the evening there was a flight back to the capital.]
